Hotel Moro is perched atop the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site of the Longsheng Ricefield Terraces in Guilin, China, offering a unique blend of luxury and stunning natural beauty.
As the first modern hotel built on the mountain, Hotel Moro set a new standard, blending a modern design with the natural landscape, and has played a key role in rejuvenating and boosting tourism in the region.

AWARD WINNING.
Hotel Moro quickly gained recognition and rose to the top of booking preferences in the region, holding the title of the No. 1 hotel destination for four consecutive years, while also winning the prestigious 'People's Choice Award' for Best Design and Best Stay awarded by Ctrip.
ARCHITECTURE.
Hotel Moro represents a modernization of traditional local architecture, which historically featured timber stilt structures vulnerable to the harsh mountain weather and limited in lifespan.
By integrating modern construction techniques with the region's architectural style, we’ve created a design that is both modern and deeply rooted in the local context.

INTERIOR.

Designed for Comfort.
From the moment guests arrive at Hotel Moro, they are transported from the hustle and bustle of the city to the serene beauty of the mountains. This tranquility is reflected in every aspect of the design, from the breathtaking viewing deck to the comfort of their bedroom. While modern materials were used, we meticulously incorporated local elements into the interior design to ensure that guests experience the true essence of mountain living, blending comfort with the natural surroundings.

Branding.

The Hotel Moro logo draws inspiration from the Longsheng Rice Terraces in Guilin, China, reflecting their rhythmic contours and harmonious integration with nature. The geometric mountain forms and tiered lines evoke the terraces’ layered beauty, while the rising sun symbolises renewal and tranquillity. This connection to landscape and balance is mirrored in the hotel’s architecture and interior design, where structured forms and natural elements create a serene, welcoming retreat.

Mural Design.

Echoes of Longji.
Designed and painted by Sarah Fraser from Glasgow, Scotland - the mural is located in the main stairwell of Hotel Moro, this hand-painted mural is inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of the Longji Rice Terraces. Flowing lines echo the contours of the terraced fields, while a golden sun and delicate cloud motifs capture the region’s natural beauty. The artwork blends movement and tranquility, creating an immersive experience that connects guests to the surrounding landscape as they ascend through the space.
